The boring but important bit.
CANCELLATION / RESCHEDULING
To secure your appointment, a €50.00 non-refundable deposit is required. I operate under a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you wish to cancel or reschedule your casting appointment with over 48 hours' notice, your deposit can be transferred to another date. However, if you cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours' notice, the deposit becomes non-transferable. For a new appointment, a fresh deposit is necessary. If you have a gift voucher and do not adhere to the 48-hour cancellation policy, a new deposit is also required. There are no exceptions to this policy.

LATENESS
I allow a 15-minute grace period from your scheduled appointment time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, and there is a subsequent appointment, we cannot proceed with your appointment, and the deposit remains non-refundable and non-transferable. A new deposit is necessary for rescheduling, and the same applies if you have a gift voucher. There are no exceptions to this policy.

PAYMENTS
All appointments require a deposit, which can be paid using a secure online payment portal or Credit/Debit Card at the time of booking. The remaining balance for your keepsake can be paid in cash, credit/debit card and payable on the day of your appointment. I understand that cards can be lost or not work etc, purses can be forgotten, so we can invoice you on the day via a secure online payment link and immediate payment is required. Unfortunately, we will not able to continue work on your mould if we do not receive the payment, your moulds will be discarded and you will loose your deposit. Should you want to make another appointment you will need to pay a further deposit to cover time and product used. There are no exceptions to this policy.

COLLECTION
The turnaround time for all castings due to customer demand is approximately 12 weeks. While we aim for this timeframe, it can sometimes be longer due to priority given to emergency call outs for end-of-life or memorial casting. When your order is ready for collection, you will be notified via email or phone. Please ensure your contact details are up to date. To keep our studio organised and protect your order from damage, please collect your keepsake as soon as possible, ideally within 2 weeks of notification. If you cannot come within that time frame, we can store your castings free of charge for up to 1 month after notification. Please note, If your keepsake is not collected after that time, there will be a storage / release fee added to your order. This price is determined on the length of time your frame remains uncollected. If your castings remains uncollected after one year, it becomes the property of The Casting Emporium, and the original deposit and any payments made are forfeited. There are no exceptions to this policy.

KEEPSAKE AFTERCARE
To ensure the longevity of your keepsake:

Wash and dry your hands before touching freestanding casts to prevent oil transfer. Always pick up with the base never by the casting itself.

Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from extreme temperatures and moisture.

Avoid using command strips for framed castings due to their weight.

Dust regularly with a duster or soft microfiber cloth.

Do not use cleaning products on your casting as a protective top coat is applied to protect your castings.

Framed castings require glass cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth please do not use harsh chemicals or polish on your frames.

Our frames are ready to hang (hanging kit included). Our frames are not designed to be free standing so hanging is highly recommend.

KEEPSAKE REPAIRS
Unfortunately accidents happen, If your keepsake requires repair, please inform us promptly to discuss the next steps. Repair work may incur additional costs, depending on the level of re-work to be done a price will be discussed. There are no exceptions to this policy.

RETURNS / RECASTING
Returns are accepted only for significant flaws that severely detract from the quality of your casting. If necessary a recast can be offered (with a fee) or a partial refund. I cannot guarantee a certain hand pose with babies and children, should you be unhappy with the pose you can arrange for a recast but you will be charged for the time and products used. Uncontrollable factors like baby's finger position or pose changes during the casting process can result in recasting fees should a recast be necessary. On the day of your appointment we will take extra sets to ensure a quality mould of your keepsake, however if we are unable to take any castings at the scheduled time, a recast will be offered for an additional fee. There are no exceptions to this policy.

HEALTH & SAFETY
Our materials are safe for babies, children, adults, and pets. We take care to minimise discomfort or injury. Customers must understand the following:

Stillness is important during the casting process to capture perfect Molds.

Alginate is applied to the skin and is generally safe, but certain health conditions or contra indications should be disclosed prior to your appointment. Failure to do so could result in your appointment being cancelled and you will lose your deposit.

Health conditions affecting stillness or suitability for certain casting styles must be communicated in advance of your casting appointment, failure to do so may result in unusable moulds and a recast, which will incur additional costs for time and product.

A supervising adult is essential for those with small children visiting my family home studio, it's recommended that only the persons that you wish to include in the castings come to the casting session, if that is not possible then you must have a responsible adult to supervise the children at all times.
BOOK YOUR SESSION
My home studio is located in Cloone, Co Leitrim, approximately 30 minutes from Carrick on Shannon. Appointments are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. please be advised to book well in advance, as deposits are non-refundable if you fail to cancel or show up without 48 hours' notice or arrive more than 15 minutes late. Please specify your casting style and the individuals involved when booking. We will discuss frame options and finishes on the day of your appointment.
